A rather exhausted sigh escaped his lips as he rounded the edge of his desk to stroll toward his personal bathroom. Grabbing the white hand towel, Maddox started to wipe the excess blood from his hands and exposed neck. The towel quickly turned red, but it held up just long enough to wipe off the blood from his skin. Blue eyes flickered up to meet his reflection in the mirror. "Really?" He grunted, commenting on the blood stains on his white collared shirt poking out from the navy blue business suit. He ran his tongue along the inside of his cheek before turning on his heel and storming out of the bathroom, bloody towel in one hand while he undid his tie with the other. "Elaine!" He shouted sharply and before he even had to blink his Secretary was in the room, blinking at him in a questionable manner. Maddox glared at the look she was giving him, but other than that his voice was calm, "I need this shirt dry cleaned, the tie too. Don't sent it to the place you did last time, they ruined my favorite tie." He said, handing her the bloody towel, tie and collared shirt. He stood before her in just pants and black polished shoes, eyeing her up and down while she waited for further instructions. He arched his brow at her. "Preferably before the blood dries." He snapped, and she was gone.
When the two red oak doors closed behind his fledgling, he snorted slightly to himself, looking around his office for a moment before stepping toward a drawer and pulling out a light blue dress shirt. He went into the bathroom once more, washed his face with water and button up his shirt, rolling up the sleeves to his elbows and sighing at himself in the mirror. She was going to be pissed.
He grunted at himself and tore himself away from the mirror, she was going to be pissed? Why did he care? He still felt the pain of his fledgling being gone. Marcus was someone he trusted dearly. He was pissed just as much as she would be. He expected a visit, not that he really cared for Liliana very much, but he did have enough sympathy enough to let her through his doors to bitch to him. The thought of it made him even more annoyed, but he would let the child be who she was, whether he thought of her coven was a joke or not. Rivorn was not something Maddox would allow to be taken lightly. Fighting wasn't something he wanted, despite the rivalry between them.
The vampire sighed once again before pulling out two crystal scotch glasses and poured human blood into them. He sat down in his big office chair and started on paperwork for on the trailers he was buying to transport seafood from South Carolina up to Ohio. He heard a crash in the lobby, and a small smile tugged at his face.... [/style] |

[/style] If the fledgling's creator had not been with the vampire queen of Illyiri at the time, word of the fight between the two vampires may not have reached her quite so fast. Her blood boiling, it hadn't taken her long to reach the neighboring territory, though she had hoped to arrive before the execution of her fledgling.
Slamming through the doors of his office, Liliana Wakefield's fangs were already out, a look in her vibrant green eyes that could kill. "You had no right," she said to Maddox. She could hear her guards in the other room, holding off anyone who might try to attack their queen.
Lily didn't care that she was younger than the vampire before her; she never cared when she was this angry. In the blink of an eye, she was in front of his desk, slamming her hands down on it and glaring at him. "You know that his punishment should have fallen to me. You had no right to execute him!"
As usual, she wanted nothing more than to reach across his desk and wrap his hands around his throat. A scream from out in the other room sounded and from the agonizing sound of it, someone had been silvered.Having been twenty years old at the time of her change, Liliana was a youthful looking vampire with long, auburn hair that tumbled in silky curls down her back. She was dressed in a white dress that ended a few inches above her knees, with one sleeve and a pair of strappy, black high heels. A white gold necklace hung around her neck, the stone of which fell perfectly over her breasts. Liliana was never afraid to show a bit of skin.
"How dare you undermine my authority!" She wanted to kill him more than ever right then and there. She could not get back the fledgling she had lost, nor would that fledgling's creator be able to get back his progeny. "You disgust me." The only way Lily was able to take out her anger on him, without actually going after him, was for her to grab his desk lamp and throw it clear across the room. 267 words for maddox ehren. Maddox just blinked a few times, running his tongue over his bottom lip before looking away from the mess of shattered electronics on the floor and then back to the Queen of Illyiri. Everything else had registered before this, her flying into the room, slamming things around like a preteen who's straightener broke.
All Maddox did was blink once more before looking around Liliana to the open doors after hearing the scream. He didn't say anything for a moment, but instead put down the pen he was writing with and fold his hands together. When he finally did say something, it was his usual calm, cool tone, "I hope that isn't one of my fledglings getting silvered." His words were short and almost snippy. He pushed the crystal glass toward her with his two fingers, extending his arm but nothing else as if he didn't want to catch a disease from her or something.
Maddox then sat back farther in his chair, tilting it back for a moment while staring at his glass before smirking. "Your right, I didn't have a right. But then again, neither did your fledgling." He glared at her and said then, "Your punishment? What would you have done?" he almost sounded disgusted. "Sent him to bed early or something? Given him ugly woman to feed off of?" He said with a arch of his brow.
A low chuckle escaped his throat as she threw a hissy fit about authority. "Keep them in check and I won't have to make any moves on your fledglings without wiping your ass first." he said, looking Liliana right in the eye, the sarcasm radiating off of him. His laugh echoed in the office for a moment, like he hadn't heard that line before. "Am I not up to par to your liking?" He snorted lightly before calling Elaine again. The secretary flew in, and he pointed to his broken speaker and ipod. She busied herself with cleaning it up with a worried look on her face as Maddox continued to stare at Liliana.... [/style] |

[/style] Lily held back an aggressive hiss. "And you wonder why Illyri and Rivorn don't get along," she said, slowly calming herself. Her anger and aggression would do nothing to help her in this situation. He was a much older vampire and, even with her guards in the other room, she had no hope of murdering Maddox.
With the tension between Illyri and Rivorn, it was no surprise at all that the two fledglings got into a fight. "He was not your fledgling. The right to execute him for his actions did not lie with you." Lily didn't so much as take his eyes of of him, even when his secretary... or rather, slave, came in to clean up the mess. "Maybe if you kept your own fledglings in line, they wouldn't have to be silvered..." she said, arching a slender brow at him.
She let the crystal glass sit where it was, hesitant to take blood from him. The last thing she needed was to drink diseased blood. While blood diseases would not kill a vampire, they would temporarily weaken them until it passed through their system, which could take days. Though she eyed the glass, she looked right back up to Maddox's cold, blue eyes.
In a blur of motion, she pushed everything of of his desk before she, herself was on top of it, on her knees and grabbing hold of the front of his shirt. "Don't fuck with me, Maddox," she said, pulling him closer and getting in his face. She was a fiery vampire, just as she had been a fiery human. "I want to be compensated for my loss..." Her green eyes were on fire, boring into his. 267 words for maddox ehren. [/style][/center]

[style= overflow: auto; width: 220px; height: 275px; padding:5px; font-size: 13px; background-color: #0e0e0e; border: 5px solid #0e0e0e;]Maddox let out a long sigh through his nose as Liliana kept talking, turning around his words to throw it back in his face. The idea of arguing with her made him tired and irritable. Woman, they just never shut they're mouths. He looked over as Elaine was finished, and he watched her scurry out of the room. "Close the doors..." He said lightly, his blue eyes resting on Liliana while he spoke. Maddox was not one to argue and usually kept to himself, managing his business and keeping his coven in line. When someone came to him with a problem, he'd do his best to fix it, and fast. Though when someone stormed into his territory, fussing about his fledglings being out of line, well that was where he drew the line in staying even tempered and quiet.
His fangs shot out as Liliana grabbed a hold of his shirt. His blue eyes bore into her's and he growl low in his throat as his papers and things fell to the ground. His muscles tensed at the nearness that the red head had made herself to him and he pulled his chin up as he hissed at her. "I'll fuck with whoever I see fit." He said with a snarl before grabbing the back of her red curls and yanking back, exposing her neck. He resisted her urge and instead slammed her hard down on his desk, despite her squirming. He was now looming over her, hand easily wrapping around her throat. Compensated? You already have been, My fledgling is dead too. Your own fledgling took your kill." He snapped, leaving his jaw open to reveal his fangs.
He growled once more before pulling his fangs back in and pushing her off of his desk with a single sweep of his arm. "I didn't make you wait for an appointment, the least you could have done was take respect in the work that I need to get done. " He grunted, looking at the mess on the floor. Something else to clean up. Why was it when woman came along they had to make a mess?
His blue eyes left the heap of stuff and he walked away from his desk, annoyed and trying to calm himself before he hurt the foolish woman. "What is compensation in your mind, may I dare ask?" Maddox growled as he looked back toward her.... [/style] |

[/style] Liliana had to resist the urge to so much as wince in pain as Maddox yanked her head back by her curls. Her green eyes were ablaze and she expected to feel his fangs sink into her neck. The very thought made her shudder, however unwilling that shudder may have been. "Go to hell," she said to him. A moment later, she was being slammed onto the top of the desk, before she could even say another word.
She did her best to restrain herself as he loomed over her, his hand on her throat. They both knew how vulnerable she was to him; he was the much older, stronger vampire and in one movement he could surely snap her head right off of her pretty, little neck. She wouldn't budge though. She glared right back up at him, her own fangs out and bared.
As she was pushed from the desk, she recovered her senses just in time to prevent herself from falling. In a blur of motion, she was standing in front of him as he turned back to look at her again. With his fangs away now, she let her own slide back in. He was right: both fledglings were dead, so what else could she possibly lay claim to? She was tired of the absurd fighting and losing members of her covens to Rivorn. A few moments of silence followed his question.
"I want this to stop. I'm tired of it and it gets nobody anywhere. Ros had to deal with it and now I have to deal with it, but even you know it's fucking pointless." Another blur of motion and Lily was standing right in front of him, looking up at his face. He towered over her, but he didn't scare Lily. If anything, she looked even more fierce than usual. "I'm sick of losing fledglings and I know you are too..." She was unwilling to back down and didn't dare to look away from his blue eyes. She wanted to make sure that she got her point across and make sure he knew that she was completely serious. One of them had to be the bigger vampire and end the fighting after all.... 267 words for maddox ehren. [/style][/center]

He got what she was saying, he didn't need the puppy eyes to sway his decisions. He backed away a step and then turned to walk toward his desk again, letting a heavy sigh escape his lips. Blue eyes trailing the mess on the floor, then the closed doors, leaving his eyes blind to the improbable chaos in his lobby, and still he remained silent.
He had been ruling over Rivorn for several years now, the rivalry between the two covens had been set in stone before Maddox had even considered living in the territory. "So you come to scream and yell, mess with my work... and then you want to resolve the rivalry?" Maddox says, arching his brow and trailing his blue eyes back to her. He momentarily wondered if Lily meant she wanted the covens to be more than just neutral, the thought whirled around his mind like a threatening shark. He had only one territory that he would ever consider a help if he and his territory would in murky waters. Only one other vampire he respected at the same level as himself. The Lareth territory wasn't as close as Maddox would like it to be, but it was something he'd grown used to. He pushed those thoughts aside and forced himself to focus on the new idea that was thrown in front of him. "Why all of a sudden?" He spat out, looking directly at the female vampire. [/style] |

[/style] Liliana stayed where she was as he moved away from her, her green eyes trailing along with him. "I told you, I'm tired of losing my fledglings and, judging from your rash execution, you are too," Lily said, determined to convince him. "This rivalry has been around far longer than either of us has been king or queen, Maddox."
She moved and, a moment later, she was sitting on top of his desk, one smooth leg crossed over the other. "Ask yourself this... had it been any other king or queen to confront you with this proposition, would you have accepted in a heartbeat? Or would you have done what you're doing now? The longer we wait, more fledglings will slaughter each other." She didn't let her eyes so much as wander from his tall, muscular figure.
"I'm putting my territory... my covens before myself... do you refuse to do the same, Maddox?" She arched a brow at him, almost challenging. "Ask anything of me and you'll have it..." Her words were bold, but she didn't worry about what he might ask her to do. She was sticking her neck out for her fledglings and she did so willingly. 267 words for maddox ehren. [/style][/center]

Instead of starting another fight, Maddox just looked away for a moment, sighing in an almost agreeing way. His blue eyes flew back to her the second she was closer, and for only a second did his gaze falter to look down at her crossed legs before eyeing her face once more. Arching a brow just slightly, Maddox parted his lips and said with a slight smirk on his face, "I would be hesitant with any other coven, enemy or not. You may be willing to just to a decision right away, but I... not so much." He stopped and scanned his eyes over her body, only to continue in a huskier voice, "No matter how persuasive." He said before turning his body once more to walk away.
His body stiffened at her last words and he came to a slow stop before pivoting around to stare at her face. "I think more of my coven would have died out if I didn't put them before myself... like you said, this feud had been around longer than we have been around. It's not a personal decision to keep you pushed to the side." He said with a sly smile, eyeing her up once again. He wanted to laugh at her, she was a fool for telling him she was practically his. He ran a hand through his hair, taking in a deep breath before expelling it loudly. "I don't want anything from you. Clean up the mess you made and the deal is settled. If the agreement is breached... well then you'll have one hell of a pissed off vampire on your ass." He said, giving her a warning look before eyeing the mess of papers on the floor... [/style] |
